Spring in Wright Park

Since I'm enjoying my Spring Break (read: working half as much), Ezra and I planned to participate in the first of Walk Tacoma 2012's walks. Seth was even able to join us, since his job got canceled.

Melissa McGinn, from MetroParks.
We met up with a group of 20-30 people by the white lions in Wright Park and walked through the park, across Division Street, up I Street, past Stadium High School and back to the park. The weather was gorgeous!

And then we three had a small little picnic and Ezra ran around - enjoying walking up and down a pretty steep hill most of all. (Of course, we may have also rolled him down the hill, yelling "as... you... wish!")

So many flowers to pick!
Cannon!
Eating grass.
We even met a boy and his small bunny, and of course had to ask what sound bunnies make, since Ezra is fascinated with animal noises. Alas, all our new friend could offer was a shrill shrieking noise. (And he also told us a very disturbing story about the death of one of his 16 bunnies and his subsequent taxidermy efforts, turning the rabbit skin into a purse for his mother, with the help of his science teacher).

Bunny!
We also spent some time reading our respective books, before heading home. It was a perfect day of sunshine, history, exploring and reading.

Reading!
Hunger GamesEating Dinosaurs and The Story of Easter.
